A Ceilidh is a traditional Gaelic social gathering, which usually involves playing Gaelic folk music and dancing. It originated in Ireland and Scotland, but is now common throughout the Irish and Scottish Diaspora. Before discos and nightclubs, there were ceilidhs in most town and village halls on Friday or Saturday nights; they are still common today.

The Scottish American Society of South Florida is a non-profit organization dedicated to the furtherance of Scottish culture through Scottish dance, music, and art. The organization holds many events throughout the year including the Southeast Florida Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Annual Golf Scramble, and the annual Burns Supper, which commemorates the birth of poet Robert Burns.
